Who I am
A Dallas native but serial transplant to six states and counting, I’ve spent my career searching for the perfect IT position - one where the budget flows like water, all the hardware is brand new, and everyone reads our notification emails without them even needing to be marked “URGENT”.
While I wait for that position to open up in Q4 of never, I’ve had the good fortune to try my hand at a wide variety of responsibilities ranging from jockeying an overnight helpdesk phone for stressed-out doctors to testing storage for one of the world’s leading chipmakers. My current position is heading up the helpdesk and services team for Imperitiv Solutions, Denver’s premier managed services provider for small businesses. Don’t worry, I’m not going to repeat my entire resume here - if you’d like to take a look, you can hit the green “Download Resume” button up top. What’s on this page is the more intangible stuff that doesn’t fit as well into a template.
Throughout a long, winding list of positions over the last ten years, I’ve built my approach to my work and my leadership style around two fundamental principles:
In every conversation you will ever have, the person
you’re talking to will know something you don’t.
And, more importantly:
It is never your client’s job to understand technology.
It is your job to make technology understandable.
These principles mean that the people I work for have my undivided effort, and those who work for me have my unwavering support. I’m a strong proponent of continuing education and have strived to better my skills throughout my career in order to keep up with this rapidly-changing industry, and I believe it is our job as technical professionals to bring the benefits of that industry to our clients in a clear and concise manner.
I don’t do buzzwords, I don’t do runarounds, I don’t do 17 pushy sales calls for my services as a consultant, and I don’t need to exaggerate what I do as an employee. I solve problems, I do it exceedingly well, and my clients are consistently very happy with my service. That’s the bottom line - I love what I do, and that shows in both the quality of my work and my client outcomes.
